DESCRIPTION

As a food reviewer of Restaurant World, I have come across many dining establishments, but none quite like Aki Asian House. Located at 70 Washington St Bloomfield, NJ 07003, this restaurant offers a unique fusion of Asian cuisine, including desserts, sushi, hibachi dishes, and much more.

One of the standout features of Aki Asian House is its extensive menu, which includes a wide array of options for both sushi lovers and those looking for cooked dishes. From Sashimi Appetizers to Kitchen Starters like Edamame and Crispy Calamari, there is something for everyone.

One of the most popular items at Aki Asian House is their signature sushi rolls, such as the Cherry Blossom Roll, Godzilla Roll, and Snow Mountain Roll. These rolls are not only visually appealing but also packed with flavor and unique ingredients that set them apart from other sushi offerings.

Additionally, Aki Asian House offers a range of hibachi specials, teriyaki dishes, noodle soups, and even poke bowls, catering to a variety of taste preferences. The restaurant also provides catering services for those looking to enjoy their delicious food at events or special occasions.

Customers have raved about the freshness and quality of the food at Aki Asian House, as well as the friendly and attentive service they received during their visits. While some have noted minor issues with temperature control or parking, overall, the reviews have been overwhelmingly positive.

Based on the reviews and menu offerings, it is clear that Aki Asian House is a hidden gem in the culinary world, offering a delightful dining experience with a mix of traditional and innovative Asian dishes. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or simply looking to explore new flavors, Aki Asian House is definitely worth a visit.

The sushi was great and I'm definitely coming back here again. The service was amazing, I ordered the shrimp tempura and it was excellent and so tasty my mouth was in heaven. I would recommend this to my whole family and see how they like or love it. THANK YOU Aki for the exceptional service and food.

We went to Aki for my bf’s birthday after we couldn’t make it for a reservation at another restaurant. I saw some of the negative reviews on Yelp but after dining here, I honestly don’t understand how they have a bad rating! The service was amazing, the waitress (sadly I didn’t get her name) was really energetic, very polite and just great. The food was fresh and so yummy! Sashimi and sushi was spot on. The General Tao’s Chicken was delicious, my bf finds a lot of places don’t get the sauce right or the texture is odd but Aki has the recipe to perfection. Price is reasonable. Also the waitress was more than happy to help me put the cake in the fridge, take it out with candles prepared and the custom topper I bought. In the rush of getting the cake and everything I had forgot candles and lighter, thankfully Aki had some on hand. You’re a lifesaver! The only cons I would have is that the restaurant was a bit cold- our table was right next to the door so it would be expected. And the bubble tea was more of a slush with a lot of tiny crushed ice, bubbles were a bit hard. But for 4 and convenience, not bad. All in all it was a lovely dining experience. Very glad we found this place, would come here again if I’m in the area. Tips for parking! Street parking was hard to find and we arrived around 5pm on a Friday, Glenwood Garage is just around the corner next to the Buy-Rite Wine & Liquor store. It’s a 2 min walk from the restaurant. It was only 1 a hr (unheard of?? Cheapest parking I’ve ever seen lol) and for 2 hrs max. But additional is 1 per hr I believe? Not sure tbh. We stayed just slightly over and it only charged me 2. Lots of parking spots available. (For those who are curious the cake is “Rouge Noir” from Delice Macarons in Cranford. Dark chocolate & raspberry. Custom topper is from GoldenTopper on Etsy. So good!)

I was pleasantly surprised with the take out food I got from here. The sushi pizza was on point! I loved the “special sauce” and the scallion pancake base! It’s unlike anything I’ve ever had before. The sushi rolls are really good as well and they are quite large. I got 3 different specialty rolls and could not finish. The vegetable spring rolls were really good as well, and everything came very nicely packaged for delivery.

I loved everything about this place, the food and service were great! I ordered the hibachi steak with noodles and my boyfriend ordered the duck and both were fantastic! We also ordered the roast pork buns and king crab for appetizer. I loved that I was able to find this nice little gem! I highly recommend.

I consider myself as Sushi snob and this is by far the best sushi place around. The seafood is always fresh. The salmon melts in my mouth. They recently added poke bowls and they are my new favorite. I recommend any sushi dish with spicy salmon. You also need to try the entree mango chicken over rice. If you're dining with somebody who does not eat sushi they will have tons of Chinese and Thai options as well as hibachi. In addition to the delicious food and beautiful presentation the service here five stars. I highly recommend this Hidden Gem. Update 2025: still fantastic. Love this place!

Cute little place that is very welcoming. They have nice and friendly staff, the atmosphere is pleasant and the food is fresh. I had won ton soup, my friend had disorders soup and we shared a boat for 2. The price was definitely worth it, the fish was very fresh and just delightful. Can't wait to go back honestly.
